Is it just me, or does work really suck? I absolutely hate my job. But I can't just quit. ya know how that is. need that stuff that is the root of all evil. Evil or not I still need it. What's so bad is you have to have so much of it just to survive in todays world. It really sucks that life has come to this point. Where personal possessions are so important to people. I think I would be happy living in a cabin in the woods and eating from a garden, Have my husband kill the meat. The only problem would be no electricity, no T.V., no computer. What would I do without those things. I quess I'm as bad as everyone else. Have to have this stuff, or I think I do. I really think I could adjust. But it would be very hard. I even think about not having my diet mt. dew. a day. I might have to kill someone over that. But really, If you get to thinking what life would be like if we didn't have all this technology. It would really be bad since we have gotten so used to it. If we had never had it, it wouldn't be so bad. I love meeting people and talking to them. With a computer you can meet people from around the world. Pretty cool. I'm still amazed by this invention. I hope we never have to experience what it would be like without this stuff. But if we do we can survive. |

~sigh~ What I wouldn't give to just have society revert back to having to take care of our own, our children not taking all their toys and "stuff" for granted, living humbly and eating from a garden.
I sooooooo agree with ya.

I am so there with you, with the exception, I like my job, I hate the people I work with/for. I could be so happy being a very boring, mundane housewife. And if I couldn't be that, then I'd settle for a farm life somewhere... milk the cows, feed the chickens, slop the hogs and harvest what we planted.

You know, I TOTALLY understand where you're coming from! It SUCKS to be in a job you hate, and feeling like you're trapped. Look in the classifieds every day- my Momma always said, "The best time to find a job is when you've got one!" :0) Best of luck!

Though I do like my job most of the time I still dream of winning the lottery so I could just have fun everyday.

Well, I've been the housewife. I've been the career woman. And I've been unemployed. I prefer employed on any level.
I feel strongly that you should love your job. You spend the majority of your time doing it! If you hate it, you must be constantly searching for a new one. (Of course everyone hates their job SOMETIMES>)
When I was unemployed for four months (I know this doesn't sound like a long time) I, even I, battled with severe depression. My daughter would plop onto my bed, where I covered my head with the blankets and declared today I was going to be depressed. She'd say, "Mom! Don't be depressed! You're the most amazing person I know!" My son would laugh and say, "As if you even know how to be depressed."
I swore that, in the future... no matter what... I would appreciate the job I had. Even if it was to be digging ditches in a prison camp.
I am now doing something I love very much. It pays practically nothing, but I don't care about that. I feel I'm making a contribution to people's lives. There is no greater reward for me.
My poor father, though ~ He says, "No matter what job you have, always be looking for a better job. You don't owe allegiance to anyone! (hrmm... well... except for me)" hee hee
Dad's a fun guy.
ALSO, I didn't even know there was an email associated with the blogs!
*Teri goes on a search*

miss 1999: I know what you mean. I do hate my job. But right now i'm just glad to have one. It pays good. I don't know if I could afford to find one for less money right now.
soapopera girl: Yeah I dream of that too. even though I know it will never happen. It's always nice to dream.
cathouse teri: yeah. I have been unemployed. It sucks. I get bored too easy. I complain about my job. But I'm still glad i have one. If I had to sit at home everyday I would go insane.
